FORTRAN 77
FORTRAN 77 is an ancient high-level programming
language, descended from FORTRAN IV, which was designed for easy encoding
mathematical and scientific formulas in a computer program.
It’s a great pitty that FORTRAN
(for many years), and as a "scientific" computer
programming language, was not capable to handle recursion
– a fundamental feature of (encoding) dynamical processes!
Well, today FORTRAN
is still alive (!) and, of course, recursion
is now no longer a foreign word for Fortran (as it’s written today).
And, since 2003 it’s even
an object-oriented programming language!
The Book I
read: FORTRAN 77, written by
Harald Wehnes, ISBN 3-446-13699-1.
It
is a very good and detailed book that I actually can recommend to
you!
